A VR Utility that Ensures Zero Headset Tangles or Twists

Turn Signal is an intuitive, visual and minimalistic in-game utility that helps you keep track of cord tangling/wrapping in SteamVR. In other words, this modest VR utility helps mitigate VR headset cords from getting tangled up or twisted during gameplay.

Working Mechanism

The tool achieves its purpose by employing a simple graphic, referred to as The Flower. The graphic is an in-game overlay on the playing space floor, which represents your turns visually by twisting with the player. As all users are different, the utility comprises certain settings that help make sure it doesn’t intrude into a particular player’s playing style. To facilitate things, the app has a menu added to the primary window so that there is no space wastage. The game is still in its fledgling stages and you can see new features and bugs (if any) getting addressed with later builds.

Interface and Settings

The interface has multiple toggles to ensure the app works the way you want it to. For instance, there is the button toggle that disables/enables the visible tools in-game. There is also a button for resetting utilities rotation tracking. There are multiple setting options as well such as opacity, height, transparency and scale setting. The twist rate setting manipulates the levels of "twistiness". There is a toggle for hiding the primary window and another toggle to auto-start and close the utility. There is also a toggle that links twistiness and opacity, so that the visibility increases with increased twists.
